Everything Says Glory!
Psalm 29 is a song of pure praise unto God. It satisfies the soul breathless with appreciation. It begins with a call unto praise from angels and concludes with the echo of mortals made freshly aware of the blessings of God.
In between the parenthesis of praise is a description of a storm and the evidence it gives as to the power of God! ...The voice of the Lord is POWERFUL; the storm up-rooted trees and tossed leaf-laden branches as toothpicks in the wind. The voice of the Lord hews out FLAMES OF FIRE; lightening cuts jagged corners in the valley. The voice of the Lord SHAKES the wilderness; thunder stubbed its toes on its own echoes. At the storm’s conclusion, in His temple everything says GLORY!
I don’t
particularly enjoy storms, whether they are in the weather or in my personal
agenda, but they do bring forth an awe of God and His never-daunted power.
“The Lord sits as King forever.” Are you in a storm? Remember
Psalm 29; The Lord will give strength to His people, The Lord will bless
His people with peace. I have been told that that Psalm was often read
in the past to comfort children in the storm. It comforts His children
today. And in His temple, everything says GLORY!
