For Guest Services, Check the Book
I checked into a hotel one evening wearied by a long and late flight. My plane had lingered at the airport in huffy stuffiness for a belated departure. My suitcase, crowded under the seat in front of me provided no room for my feet so during the flight my knees had curled almost at chin level. My clothes, my face and my attitude were badly wrinkled. Once in my hotel room, I tried to sleep, but was so tired that I tossed restlessly through the night. The next morning I decided to take a quick walk around the hotel parking lot before getting dressed for my speaking engagement. A side door led me into a garden area and beside it was a well-fitted exercise room, a heated pool, a sauna and a whirlpool! Oh, I thought, why didn’t someone tell me last night?!? How I would have enjoyed such luxuries. Why didn’t someone tell me???
Back in my room I noticed a booklet placed in open view on the hall table; “Guest Services” and there, clearly pictured was the exercise room, the heated pool, the sauna and whirlpool. All were in the book.
The Bible gives us a grand listing of God’s Grace Services available
to each of us; the exercise room where we put faith into practice, the
heated pool of His healing, the sauna for cleansing and the whirlpool
which gets our spiritual muscles toned for the next assignment. They’re
all covered in the Book. Check it daily, you might miss a good night’s
sleep without it.
